Hello, I'm Chris Schwark, owner of H & G Plumbing and Heating Inc.
H & G has been a family owned business for over 40 years. My dad, Ralph Harness,
started the business in 1966 with Wayne Geisler and Monroe Bordman, and it was
located at 108 Warwick Street as a plumbing and heating shop.
My dad, Monroe, and Wayne, all did estimating, with Dad and Monroe handling office
duties, and Wayne supervising in the field. My sister Diana graduated from Rolling
Prairie High School in 1966 and worked for H & G as a secretary until 1986.
H & G moved to its' present location 1355 East State Road 2, LaPorte, in 1977.
At this time, Monroe and Wayne retired, selling their shares to my dad.
My dad passed away in 1977, and I became the owner with my husband
Chuck Schwark, and our two sons, Scott and Shawn.
In 2002 we also started H & G Underground Utilities LLC,
a water and sewer contracting business.
We now have 20+ employees, serving LaPorte County for all your
plumbing, heating, water and sewer needs.
